The family of a woman killed in a vehicle collision are suing the driver they assert is responsible for the crash, as well as the estate of another driver who died in the accident.
Ozella Falls, as special administrator of the Estate of Bernadette Renee Harris, filed a lawsuit May 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Yvette Harris, as special administrator of the Estate of Leshia Nelson, and Shawndre Davante Hines, citing wrongful death.
According to the complaint, Nelson was driving a vehicle westbound on Lake Street with Harris as a passenger on May 12, 2012, when Hines was also driving westbound. The plaintiff claims Hines attempted to change lines and struck Nelson's vehicle, causing it to hit a utility pole, killing all passengers, including Harris.
