A Burbank woman is suing Stickney Township, Pace Suburban Bus Service and a driver , alleging their negligence caused her to sustain injuries while riding a bus for area handicapped residents.
Joan E. Staron filed a lawsuit May 5 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Stickney Township, Pace Suburban Bus Service and Louise McNally, citing negligence.
Staron claims she was traveling in a mini bus for handicap residents of Stickney Township on Normandy Avenue in Burbank on May 3, 2013, when McNally, the driver, swiftly turned the bus, causing the wheelchair she was sitting in to dislodge.
According to the suit, McNally didn't properly secure Staron into the bus, resulting in her falling.
Staron is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney David A. Williams and Brad J. Balke.
