A Cook County man is suing a Markham bar over claims he sustained injuries as a result of a build up of ice on its property.
Allen Shapkauski filed a lawsuit May 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Kickoff Bar and Grill, also known as Kickoff Sports Bar and 4630 Laurence Management LLC, citing negligence.
Shapkauski claims he he slipped and fell on an unnatural accumulation of ice and snow on Feb. 3 at the defendant's bar at 3533 W. 159th St. in Markham.
According to the suit, the defendant failed to remove the ice and snow from its property, resulting in Shapkauski falling and sustaining injuries.
Shapkauski is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorneys at the Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder LLC.
