Cook County and its sheriff are being sued over accusations some of his employees refused to help a woman who claims she was attacked by another inmate while in custody.
Delicia Olszewski filed a lawsuit May 7 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Cook County and Thomas Dart, in his official capacity as sheriff, as well as unidentified sheriffs deputies, agents and employees.
Olszewski claims she sustained injuries while in the custody of the Cook County Sheriff's Department on Oct. 26, when she was attacked by another inmate and the defendants refused to help her and denied her medical attention.
Olszewski is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by Naperville attorneys at Driscoll Law Offices P.C.
