A plastic surgery center and some of its employees are being sued by a patient who claims she had developed an infection following a cosmetic procedure.
Cathy Nabors filed a medical malpractice lawsuit May 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Jeffrey Weinzweig, JW Plastic Surgery, The Chicago Center for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery LLC and unknown nurses, physicians and medical personnel.
Nabors claims she went to Weinzweig for cosmetic surgery on her thigh on May 16, 2012. The suit alleges Weinzweig failed to evaluate Nabor's incisions after her stitches had broken open and she developed an infection, causing her pain, shock to her nervous system and medical expenses.
Nabors is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is representing herself.
