The estate of a Cook County woman is suing a nursing home over claims the woman fractured her arm.
Lilly Riley, as independent administrator of the Estate of Lucille Westmoreland, filed a lawsuit May 22 in the Cook County Circuit Court against The Chalet Living and Rehabilitation Center LLC, doing business as Chalet Living and Rehab Center, citing violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
According to the complaint, Westmoreland was a resident of Chalet Living and Rehab Center on July 6, 2012, when she fell and fractured her left arm, despite the defendant's employees knowing she was at high risk for falls.
Riley alleges Westmoreland's injury required hospitalization and led to the deterioration of her health.
Riley is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys Steven J. Malman and Jason M. Kellerman of Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates P.C.
