A patient is suing her doctor over claims she has suffered from shoulder problems following replacement surgery.
Nancy Priebe filed a lawsuit May 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Jose Perez-Sanz, citing negligence.
The lawsuit states Perez-Sanz performed a total shoulder replacement surgery on Priebe's left shoulder April 12, 2012 at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. Priebe claims she began to experience extreme pain, weakness and significant loss of motion in spite of physical therapy.
Priebe, according to the suit, discovered in April 2013 that Perez-Sanz allegedly misdiagnosed the severity of her condition and failed to use the proper size component, set the component properly, secure and test the component before completing surgery and take post-operative films to determine the component was set properly.
Priebe claims she suffers severe and permanent injuries and has incurred economic and non-economic damages as a result of the doctor's alleged negligence.
She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, and is being represented by Bryan O’Connor of the O’Connor Law Group.
