Chicago dog owner faces suit from passerby who alleges attack

A woman is suing the owner of a dog she claims attacked her as she walked by a home in Chicago.

Rajine Wrightington filed a lawsuit March 23 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Ronald Robinson.

According to the complaint, Wrightington was on the sidewalk near Robinson's home on South Harvard Avenue in Chicago on March 11, 2013, when she was attacked and injured by Robinson's dog.

Wrightington accuses Robinson of common law negligence and violating the state's Animal Control Act.

She is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney David E. Gilbreth of Costello, McMahon, Burke & Murphy Ltd.
