A Cook County man is suing over claims he was injured when an unleashed Labrador Retriever bit him.
Slawomir Jakubczyk filed a lawsuit May 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Theresa Garcia, citing negligence and violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.
According to the complaint, Jakubczyk was on the sidewalk in front of Garcia's property on North Melvina Avenue in Chicago on May 20, 2012, when Gracia's dog bit him.
Jakubczyk is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney David Nemeroff of Nemeroff Law Offices Ltd.
