A man is suing Macy's, claiming he was injured after a toilet seat slid off a toilet in the restroom of its Woodfield Mall store.
Travis McBride filed a lawsuit May 27 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Macy's Retail Holdings Inc., citing premises liability.
According to the suit, McBride was shopping at the Macy's store in the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg on May 24, 2012, when he fell to the ground and sustained injuries to his head, body and limbs because the properly toilet seat was not secured to the toilet.
McBride accuses Macy's of failing to maintain the restroom or warn customers of the dangerous state of the toilet.
He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages andis being represented in the case by attorney Fred I. Benjamin of Benjamin and Shapiro Ltd.
