A widow is suing a rehabilitation center and nursing home over allegations their negligence led to her husband's death.
Pearlie Hart, as special administrator of the Estate of Robert Hart, filed a lawsuit May 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Cedar Pointe Rehab and Nursing Home.
The suit states Robert, who suffered from dementia, was a resident at the home on March 10, 2013, when staff failed to supervise him and allowed him to enter other residents’ rooms unattended. Hart claims Robert sustained injuries that resulted in his death.
Hart is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented by Matthew I. Baker of Sandman, Levy and Petrich.
