Woman sues over slip and fall on grapes at grocery store

A woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries after falling on grapes in an Oak Lawn grocery store.

Mary Heden filed a lawsuit May 23 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Jewel Food Stores Inc., Jewel-Osco, New Albertson's Inc. and Supervalu Inc., citing negligence.

According to the suit, Heden slipped and fell while shopping at the defendants' store on May 25, 2012 at 9424 S. Pulaski St. in Oak Lawn. Heden claims she fell on grapes that were on the floor, resulting in pain and expensive medical bills.

Heden is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented by Chicago attorneys J. Timothy Cerney and Andrzej R. Bizoznowski of Carroll, Hartigan & Cerney Ltd.
