A Cook County woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries from a loose sewer cover.
Susan Morris filed a lawsuit May 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Willie Brown, Majestic Real Estate Company and First National Bank of IL Trust No. 6347.
According to the suit, Morris suffered injuries on May 28, when she fell on a sewer cover at the defendant's store at 10814 S. Emerald Ave. in Chicago. Morris claims she was walking through a passage way at the property and stepped on a sewer cover that wasn't secured.
She accuses the defendants of allowing the sewer cover to remain loose and failing to maintain the property and inspect it for dangerous conditions.
Morris is seeking damages in excess of $30,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Cicero attorney Andrew J. Fink of Solis Law Firm PC.
