A woman is suing over an alleged slip and fall incident at an auto repair shop.

Maria Garcia filed suit May 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Speed Auto Service Inc.

According to the suit, Garcia was a customer at the defendant's auto repair facility at 4301 W. Montrose Ave. in Chicago, on Jan. 18. While there, she claims she slipped on an unknown foreign substance, which caused her to fall violently and sustain injuries.

The defendant is accused of failing to clean the floor of the premises, warn customers of the hazard, maintain the premises in a safe condition and properly advise employees about removing substances from the floor.

Garcia is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by attorney Steven R. Levin of Levin, Riback Law Group P.C.
