An employee of a Chicago plant is suing the manufacturer of a tortilla processing machine he claims he was injured using.
Constantino Arguelles and Catalina Hernandez Juan filed a lawsuit May 23 in the Cook County Circuit Court against J.C. Ford Company, citing negligence and loss of companionship.
Arguelles claims he was injured on Aug. 2, 2012 while working on the defendant's tortilla processing machine at the El Milagro plant at 3120 W. 36th St. in Chicago. The suit alleges the machine exposed him to pinch points and failed to have any sensor devices that would eliminate the dangerous pinch points, which resulted in Aguelles's injury.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and are being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Edward G. Willer of Corboy & Demetrio PC.
