An insurance company is suing over claims one of its client's home sustained thousands of dollars in water damage after a plumbing company's installation of a toilet.
West Bend Mutual Insurance Co., as subrogee of Florence and Andrew Sokulski, filed a lawsuit June 5 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Digangi Plumbing Co., citing property damage.
According to the complaint, a plastic nut broke on the toilet in the Sokulskis' home on in Inverness on June 7, 2011, and as a result, the home sustained water damage. West Bend claims Digangi Plumbing negligently installed a toilet in the home it insures in 2008.
The insurance company is seeking the more than $45,000 and is being represented in by Chicago attorneys Jeffrey C. Arnold and Matthew R. Cohen of Fisher Kanaris P.C.
