A construction company is being sued by an iron worker who claims he was injured while working a job for it in 2011.

Patrick Fogarty filed a lawsuit April 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Power Construction Co. LLC, alleging construction negligence and premises liability.

According to the complaint, Fogarty was an iron worker employed by Chicago Decking on June 3, 2011, when he was working at the defendant's construction site at 425 S. Wabash Ave. in Chicago.

Fogarty claims he slipped on decking while stepping over equipment and/or debris that was left by another trade within a controlled access zone. As a result of the defendant's alleged acts, the suit states Fogarty sustained injuries.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Michael A. Knobloch of Goldberg, Weisman & Cairo.
