Slip and fall on allegedly wet floor spurs suit against Little Company of Mary Hospital

A Cook County woman is suing over claims she was injured when she slipped on the wet floor of a hospital room following a colonoscopy.

Mary Cannon filed a lawsuit May 19 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers Inc.

According to the complaint, Cannon went to the defendant for a colonoscopy on Dec. 9, 2008, when she slipped on the wet floor in the room where the procedure was performed and sustained injuries.

She accuses the defendant of failing to properly maintain the premises or warn patients of the danger.

Cannon is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Timothy P. Rhatigan of Rhatigan Law Offices LLC.
