A Hinsdale man is suing a Chicago lawyer he claims failed to timely file a suit seeking damages from a vehicle collision.
Tubonimi Bob-Manuel filed a legal malpractice lawsuit June 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Gavin M. Pearlman and Law Offices of Gavin M. Pearlman.
According to the complaint, Bob-Manuel was driving northbound on 17th Avenue in Maywood on Feb. 19, 2011, when a vehicle traveling west on Oak Street ran a stop sign and collided with his.
Bob-Manuel claims Pearlman agreed to represent him on Feb. 6, 2012 to bring a claim to recover damages, but failed to file suit before the statute of limitations ran out.
Bob-Manuel is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional limits, interest and costs. He is being represented in the case by attorney David S. Lipschultz of Goldberg Weisman & Cairo in Chicago.
