Woman claims CTA let bus driver work while fatigued, failed to repair brake system

Cta

An Illinois woman is suing over claims a fatigued city bus driver and insufficient brakes led her to sustain injuries.

Colleen Luellen filed a lawsuit June 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Transit Authority, alleging negligence.

According to the suit, Luellen was traveling on a CTA bus towards O'Hare Airport in Chicago on March 24, when the driver lost control of the bus. She claims the CTA failed to have sufficient brakes installed on the bus, allowed the bus driver to operate the vehicle while fatigued and failed to repair the brake system.

She alleges the defendant's negligence resulted in injuries and medical bills.

Luellen is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented by Chicago attorney Eric M. Glasson of Law Offices of Eric M. Glasson & Associates.
