A major airline is being sued by a woman who claims she was injured after falling out of her wheelchair while being escorted to her car.
Ann Steiner filed a lawsuit June 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against United Airlines Inc., Gateway Group One and Gateway Security Inc., alleging negligence.
Steiner, according to the suit, was a passenger on a United Airlines flight from San Francisco to Newark and required wheelchair assistance from the plane to her car. She claims an employee of United pushed her wheelchair at a high rate of speed, causing her to fall out of it and sustain injuries.
She further alleges the employee did not assist her back into her chair and left the area.
Steiner is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by Michael S. Keating of Keating Law Offices P.C. in Chicago.
