A woman is suing three people who she claims beat her after she asked for money they allegedly owed her.
Sonia Younan filed a lawsuit June 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Mary Younan, Ronak Safer and Elane Tayla, alleging battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
According to the lawsuit, Sonia Younan went to Tayla’s home on North Seeley Avenue in Chicago, to ask about a debt owed to her. She claims Mary Younan, Tayla and Safer told her they would beat her up if she kept asking for the money and then attacked her.
Sonia Younan called police and was taken to the hospital, according to the complaint.
She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented by Demijan Drnovsek of Matthew Drnovsek Law of Chicago.
