Garbage man sues construction company over trip at Morse Red Line site

A garbage collector is suing over claims he tripped on fencing at a construction site near the Morse Red Line Station.

Andrew Huff filed suit June 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against Kiewit Infrastructure Co.

According to the complaint, Kiewit was in charge of providing fencing at a construction site at the el station on Morse Avenue in Chicago. Huff claims he was picking up trash at the station on Aug. 13, 2012, when he tripped on Kiewit's fencing.

He accuses the defendant of failing to properly install the fencing, creating a hazardous condition, failing to warn of the dangerous condition and not maintaining the fencing.

Huff is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by attorney Timothy P. Rhatigan of Rhatigan Law Offices LLC.
