A man is suing a construction company, claiming he was injured on the job because it failed to provide a safe workplace.
Steven M. Pransky filed a lawsuit May 22 in the Cook County Circuit Court against George Sollitt Construction Co., alleging construction negligence.
According to the complaint, Pransky was working for Great Lakes Steel Erection Inc. on a project overseen by the defendant, the general contractor, at Mile Square Health Center on South Wood Street in Chicago.
Pransky claims he was installing a metal grate while standing on another metal gate for support on Oct. 10, when the grates came into contact, causing the supporting grate to fall and injure him. He accuses the defendant of failing to provide a safe workplace.
Pransky is seeking damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys James J. Morici Jr. and Christopher C. Cortese of Morici, Figlioli & Associates.
