A woman is suing the owners of a dog she alleges bit her in LaGrange Park.

Dahlia De La Torre filed suit May 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Paul Lanigan and Kathleen Lanigan, alleging violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was near a property on Homestead Road in the Village of LaGrange Park on May 23, 2012 when the defendants' dog attacked without provocation and bit her.

She claims she suffered severe and disabling injuries from the attack and will continue to suffer anguish and need medical care in the future.

De La Torre is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limit. She is represented by attorney Alan H. Bender of Goldstein, Bender & Romanoff.
