Slip and fall spurs suit against owners of Reza's Restaurant

Scales

A man is suing over claims he was injured on a wet floor in a Chicago restaurant serving Mediterranean and Persian cuisine.

Abdur Rafe filed a premises liability lawsuit July 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Reza's on Ontario Inc., doing business as Reza's Restaurant, and Joseph R. and Reza Toulabi.

Rafe claims he was at Reza's Restaurant on April 22, 2013, when he was attempting to get up from his table and slipped on liquid on the floor, causing him to sustain injuries.

The suit states Reza's was involuntarily dissolved by the Illinois Secretary of State in September 2013, but that Rafe's claim survives since he is bringing it within five years of the dissolution.

Rafe is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Whitney B. Mayster of Dennis T. Schoen P.C. in Chicago.
