Polytech's career center faces breach of contract claim seeking $192K for copiers

A lawsuit has been filed against an area education and career center over claims it failed to pay for leased office equipment.

General Electric Capital Corp. filed suit July 23 in Cook County Circuit Court against Polytechnic Education and Career Services Center, alleging breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the defendant entered into a lease agreement with the plaintiff on April 3, 2013 for four office copiers for its Chicago office. Since Dec. 18, the defendant has failed to make any lease payments, the suit states.

The plaintiff is seeking damages in the amount of $192,689.68, plus interest and late charges. It is represented by Batavia attorney Darren L. Besic.
