Man accuses physician of failing to properly treat cardiac issue

A man is suing a physician he accuses failed to property treat his heart condition.

Anthony Booth filed suit July 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Stephen Behnke.

According to a complaint, Booth was admitted to Behnke's care on June 7, 2011 for vision and fainting complaints. Booth, the suit states, continued to see Behnke until a July 31, 2012 test revealed he had an abnormal narrowing of carotid arteries that required surgery.

Booth accuses Behnke of failing to obtain a cardiac consultation for him, provide proper treatment, perform proper testing and inform him about proper treatment.

Booth is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is represented by Chicago attorney Charles V. Falkenberg III of Karlin, Fleisher & Falkenberg LLC.
