A Cook County family is suing over claims a child sustained injuries while in a pool at day camp that led to his death.
Andrzej Kolodziej, as independent administrator of the Estate of Michal Duda, filed a wrongful death lawsuit July 24 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the villages of Justice and Bridgeview, as well as both of their park districts.
According to the complaint, Michal, a minor, was a member of the Justice Park District's day camp on June 17, when the camp organized an outing to a pool on South Beloit Avenue in the Bridgeview Park District.
Kolodziej claims Michal sustained injuries in the pool that led to his death and accuses the defendants of failing to provide adequate safety or supervision to the children.
Kolodziej is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys Bradley M. Cosgrove, Robert A. Clifford and Marta M. Kowalczyk of Clifford Law Offices in Chicago.
