Gunshot victim claims Schwab Rehab Hospital's alleged negligence led to ulcers

A man is suing over claims he developed ulcers while in rehabilitation for paraplegia caused by multiple gunshot wounds.

Bobby Battle filed a lawsuit July 23 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Care Network, alleging medical negligence.

According to the complaint, Battle was admitted to Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital on May 24, 2013, for care and treatment following pertaining to gunshot wounds that resulted in paraplegia.

While a resident at the hospital, Battle contends he developed stage four decubitus ulcers as a result of defendant's negligence in his care.

Battle is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Scott B. Wolfman of Scott B. Wolfman and Associates in Chicago.
