A woman is suing a River North bar over claims she was injured after another patron slipped on a wet floor and fell.
Emily Miller filed a lawsuit July 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against 25 W. Hubbard Inc., doing business as Social Twenty Five.
According to the suit, Miller visited Social Twenty Five in the summer of 2013 and fell on a wet floor. She claims the defendant failed to maintain and control the floor in a reasonably safe condition, carelessly allowed the floor to remain wet, failed to make reasonable inspection of the floor and train its employees to maintain the floor.
Because of these failures, Miller asserts an unknown patron slipped on the wet floor and knocked her down, causing injury.
She further alleges that the defendant’s service of alcohol in such quantities to certain patrons caused the intoxication of the unknown patron who knocked her to the wet floor.
Miller is seeking $30,000 and court costs. She is represented by Scott Blumenshire of the Law Offices of Meyer & Blumenshine in Chicago.
