Slip on wet floor at Walmart leads to lawsuit

A woman is suing over claims she was injured on the wet floor of a Walmart.

Norma Marshall filed a premises liability lawsuit July 28 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

According to the complaint, Marshall was at the Walmart on South Cicero Avenue in Matteson on July 29, 2012, when she slipped on a substance on the floor and sustained injuries.

She accuses Wal-Mart of being negligent in maintaining the premises and failing to clean up the dangerous condition.

Marshall is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Pope & Jaburek in Chicago.
