Man lodges asbestos suit over May mesothelioma diagnosis

Adair

A former laborer is suing over claims his mesothelioma was caused by exposure to asbestos.

Adolph J. Cendro Sr. filed a lawsuit Aug. 8 in the Cook County Circuit Court against A.O. Smith Corp, Howden Buffalo Inc. and dozens of other companies.

According to the complaint, Cendro was exposed to asbestos through products designed, manufactured, distributed, marketed and/or sold by the defendant companies between 1953 and 1985 during his time as a laborer, maintenance mechanic and plant manager, as well during non-occupational projects.

Cendro claims he was diagnosed with mesothelioma on May 2. He accuses the defendants of failing to provide proper warnings about the danger of asbestos inhalation, and, in some cases, of conspiring to conceal the dangers from the public.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Matthew J. Adair of Cooney & Conway in Chicago.
