Customer sues Max and Benny's Restaurant & Deli over trip

A Lake County woman is suing a Northbrook restaurant, claiming she was injured after tripping on a defective walking surface inside.

Tammy Miller filed a lawsuit Aug. 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Max and Benny's LLC and Max and Benny's Restaurant & Deli Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Miller was at the defendants' restaurant on South Waukegan Road in Northbrook on May 20, 2013, when she tripped inside and sustained injuries.

She accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the walking surface or warn patrons of the condition.

Miller is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Blake M. Vance of Coplan & Crane Ltd. in Oak Park.
