Former engineer alleges asbestos exposure caused lung cancer

Ryan

A man is suing over claims his lung cancer was caused by asbestos exposure.

Jerry Crosek filed a lawsuit in the Cook County Circuit Court against  Georgia-Pacific LLC Anderson, Greenwood & Co., and several other companies.

According to the complaint, Crosek was diagnosed with lung cancer on Dec. 23. He claims his cancer was the result of exposure to asbestos fibers in products designed, manufactured, distributed, marketed and sold by the defendants through his employment as an operating engineer from 1959 to 2001.

The suit includes counts alleging negligence, premises liability and conspiring to conceal the dangers of asbestos exposure from the public.

Crosek is seeking damages, plus costs, and is being represented in the case by attorney Daniel T. Ryan of Cooney & Conway in Chicago.
