A truck driver is suing after he allegedly was injured trying to help UPS workers move materials.
Robert Stalla filed suit in July in Cook County Circuit Court against United Parcel Service of North America, UPS Supply Chain Solutions and UPS Supply Chain General Solutions.
According to the complaint, Stalla on Aug. 25, 2012 was employed as a truck driver and was doing business at the defendants' facility at 490 Supreme Drive in Bensonville. He claims he was instructed to help workers at the facility move materials and sustained serious injuries in the process.
The defendants are accused of failing to reasonably inspect the premises, failing to provide a safe place to work and failing to properly supervise and coordinate work.
Stalla is seeking damages in excess of $50,000. Chicago attorney Richard F. Egan of Costello, McMahon, Burke & Murphy Ltd. submitted the suit on Stalla's behalf.
