A retired machinist is suing a group of companies, claiming he developed mesothelioma after being exposed to asbestos from working around their products.
Franco Anzaldi filed a lawsuit Aug. 22 in the Cook County Circuit Court against A.W. Chesterson Co., Crane Co., H.B. Fuller Co. and dozens of others.
The lawsuit states Anzaldi worked as a machinist in various places from 1969 until 1999, during which time he did automotive repairs, maintenance and remodeling, among other tasks.
Anzaldi claims he was exposed to, inhaled and ingested asbestos while working around the defendants' products and caused his mesothelioma.
He is seeking damages, plus court costs, and is represented by Matthew J. Adair of Cooney & Conway in Chicago.
