Cab driver claims valet attendant assaulted him

Scales

A cab driver is suing a valet company and its employee, as well as the owners of a downtown parking garage, over claims the employee assaulted him.

Anquar Rbati filed a lawsuit Aug. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Park One, doing business as Park One Valet, St. Clair – Grand Garage Inc. and valet attendant Ninos Chimon.

The lawsuit states Rbati was driving his cab in the area of the defendant's parking garage on Aug. 24, 2012, when Chimon crossed the street while performing his job, ran in front of the cab and nearly caused an accident.

Rbati claims that when he got out of his cab, Chimon assaulted him, causing severe and permanent injuries. He further alleges that Chimon is known to assault people and the valet service and garage that hired him should have known that before hiring him.

Rbati is seeking in excess of $30,000 in damages and is represented by attorneys at Loren B. Siegal & Associates LLC in Chicago.
