A Cook County man is suing over claims he was injured in a vehicle collision caused by a police officer turning the wrong way on a one-way street.
Herbert E. Robinson filed a lawsuit July 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago and a police officer only identified by the last name Vieyra.
According to the complaint, Robinson was driving south on Karlov Avenue, a one-way street, on Sept. 27, when his car was struck by a vehicle driven by Vieyra, who was traveling the wrong way down 19th Street and turned the wrong way onto Karlov Avenue.
As a result of the collision, Robinson claims he sustained injuries to his back, neck, shoulder and leg. He accuses the defendants of negligence and willful and wanton misconduct.
Robinson is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney John P. Kolb of Disparti Law Group in Chicago.
