A DuPage County woman is suing a doctor and his medical practices, claiming she suffered complications after eyelid surgery.
Gina Forcucci filed a medical malpractice lawsuit Aug. 22 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Peter D. Geldner, Peter D. Geldner M.D. S.C. and The Geldner Center.
According to the complaint, Forcucci underwent surgery on her eyelid performed by Geldner at The Surgery Center on Michigan Avenue on Aug. 24, 2012. Forcucci alleges she saw Geldner for post-surgical care through September 2012, but developed hemorrhage and complications, including eyelid retraction and ectropion, that required two surgeries.
She accuses the defendants of failing to properly and timely diagnose and treat her surgery complications.
Forcucci is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Craig M. Sandberg of Muslin & Sandberg in Chicago.
