A man is suing over claims he was injured when he slipped on the wet floor of a McDonald's restaurant.

Jeffrey Cannon filed a lawsuit Aug. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against Solysal of Northfield, doing business as McDonald's Restaurants.

According to the complaint, Cannon was a customer at the McDonald's run by Solysal on North Ashland Avenue in Chicago on Sept. 18, 2012, when he slipped on a soapy, wet floor and sustained injuries.

He accuses the defendant of failing to warn its patrons of the dangerous condition.

Cannon is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Thomas H. Murphy of Cogan & Power in Chicago.

This is a report on a civil lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court. The details in this report come from an original complaint filed by a plaintiff. Please note, a complaint represents an accusation by a private individual, not the government. It is not an indication of guilt and it only represents one side of the story.
