A woman is suing over claims she was injured when a car struck her horse-drawn carriage.
Katherine M. Costa filed a lawsuit Aug. 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Timothy L. Hodges.
According to the complaint, Costa was operating a horse-drawn carriage under license on West Grand Avenue on July 14, when the carriage was rear-ended by an SUV driven by Hodges.
Costa claims the collision flipped the carriage, throwing her to the ground, and startled the horse, which ran off with the carriage and fell, injuring itself.
Costa seeks more than $30,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Ernest T. Rossiello of Ernest T. Rossiello & Associates in Chicago.
