Three people are suing over claims they were injured when part of a tree fell on them while walking on a public sidewalk.
Gayla D. Fletcher, Keith Little and Qiana R. Little filed a premises liability lawsuit Aug. 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago.
According to the suit, the plaintiffs were walking on the sidewalk on West Flournoy Street in Chicago on Sept. 4, 2013, when parts of a tree fell and struck them, causing injury. They claim the city was aware of the unsafe condition of the tree, which was slated for removal.
They plaintiffs are represented by attorney Alan H. Bender of Goldstein, Bender & Romanoff in Chicago.
