Worker's hand injury on machine leads to lawsuit against RTC Industries

A man is suing over claims he was injured while working in a manufacturing facility.

Santiago Zurita filed a product liability lawsuit Sept. 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against RTC Industries Inc. in Rolling Meadows.

According to the complaint, Zurita, an employee of Total Staffing Solutions Inc., was assigned to work at a manufacturing facility owned by RTC Industries on Sept. 6, 2012, when his left hand came into contact with an industrial cutting machine.

Zurita alleges the cutting machine, designed and manufactured by the defendant , did not have adequate guards or safety warnings.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorneys Brustin & Lundblad of Chicago.
