Scales

A Cook County man is suing over claims his son was attacked by a neighbor's dog.

On behalf of his minor son and himself, Ismael Delgado filed suit Sept. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Juana Pita, alleging violations of the Illinois Animal Control Act.

According to the complaint, Delgado's son was at the premises next door to Pita's residence and down the street from his home on West Potomac Avenue on Nov. 21, 2013, when he was attacked by Pita's dog. Delgado claims his son sustained injuries to his back and lower extremities as a result of the incident.

He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Arturo Jauregui of Jauregui & Associates in Chicago.
