A man is suing over claims he was injured when the door he was leaning on at a bar on the city's South Side opened, causing him to fall down stairs.

Kenneth M. Donald filed a lawsuit Sept. 10 in Cook County Circuit Court against Freddie L. Sanders and Carolyn Howard, individually and doing business as Swagger, Swagger Bar and Grill SOS Swagger, Swagger Bar, Swagger Lounge and Swagger Life.

According to the complaint, Donald was a patron at the defendants' premises, commonly known as Swagger Bar, on South Prairie Avenue in Chicago on Sept. 16, 2012, when he leaned against the door, the door opened, and he fell down 16 stairs to the basement floor.

Johnson claims he fractured his hand and sustained trauma to the head. The defendants are accused of negligently failing to secure the basement door.

According to yelp.com, Swagger Bar is closed.

Johnson is seeking more than $30,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Lawrence G. Gordon of Gordon & Centracchio in Chicago.
