Customer blames Tony's Finer Foods for slip

A woman is suing a grocery store chain over a slip and fall at its North Riverside location.

Myriam Bucio filed a premises liability lawsuit Sept. 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against Tony's Finer Foods Enterprises, Inc. doing business as Super Tony's Finer Foods and Tony's Fresh Market, Tony's Finer Foods Inc. and others.

According to the complaint, Bucio was shopping at the defendants' store on West 25th Street in North Riverside on Sept. 18, 2012, when she slipped on a wet substance on the floor. She accuses the defendants of failing to maintain the premises in a safe manner for customers.

Bucio is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney Paul G. O'Toole of Salvato & O'Toole in Chicago.
