Alleged slip and fall lands hotel owner in court

A woman is suing the owner of a Chicago banquet hall, where she claims she fell after slipping on water on the bathroom floor.

Monica Galindo filed a lawsuit last month in the Cook County Circuit Court against Regency Inn Inc., doing business as Regency Inn Banquets, alleging negligence.

The Aug. 4 lawsuit states Galindo was attending an event at the hotel's banquet hall at 5319 Diversey Ave. on Dec. 6, when she went to use the bathroom and slipped on water on the floor. She injured her leg, foot and ankle, the complaint states.

Galindo is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages. She is represented by attorneys at Damisch & Damisch Ltd. of Chicago. The defendant is represented by Daniel P. Costello & Associates.
