A woman is suing over claims she was injured when she fell off her bike after striking a hose allegedly left across a bicycle trail.

Frances Gillespie filed a lawsuit Sept. 15 in Cook County Circuit Court against Sanders Landscaping Inc., alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, Gillespie was riding her bike on a trail in South Shore Country Club in Chicago on June 17, 2013, when she hit a water hose, causing her to fall and sustain injuries. She claims Sanders Landscaping was responsible for her fall because it left the hose across the path for use in a nearby project.

Gillespie is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorneys Bradley A. Skafish and Jeffrey S. Deutschman of Deutschman & Associates in Chicago.
