Suit: Food at KFC in Joliet gave man food poisoning

A Will County man is suing over claims he contracted food poisoning after eating at a KFC in Joliet.

Thomas Felkins filed a lawsuit Sept. 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against Apex Brands Chicago and KFC Corp., both doing business as KFC.

According to the complaint, Felkins contracted food poisoning from food served at the KFC on North Larkin Avenue in Joliet on Oct. 3, 2012. He accuses the defendants of strict liability and negligence in serving food contaminated with a harmful bacteria.

Felkins is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is represented by attorney David C. McCracken of the Law Offices of Stephen G. Pinto in Chicago.
